Designers, luxury brands and celebrities on Fashion For Relief

The gorgeous Cannes film festival was setting for the latest Fashion For Relief, hosted by Naomi Campbell and Italian Vogue director Franca Sozzani, to raise funds for Japan.

The formula for Fashion For Relief begins with a show of celebrities modeling exquisite gowns and pieces donated by designers, luxury brands and celebrities themselves, that are later auctioned. Of course the red carpet arrivals is a significant precursor to the event, especially in Cannes, where the flashbulbs are ready to capture the glitterati, and the champagne flows nonstop.

Fashion For Relief saw clothes donated by Alexander McQueen, Louboutin, Armani, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Lanvin, Jil Sander, and Cavalli (to name a few). French first lady Carla Bruni welcomed guests via video satellite, calling all to donate to the cause.

Campbell opened the show, and graced the catwalk along with Jane Fonda, who received a standing ovation, Mrs De Niro, Grace Hightower, Rosario Dawson and a host of well-known models.

Among the prestigious works of art donated included Tracey Emin, Bruce Weber, Mark Seliger, Miles Aldridge and David La Chapelle.
