New premium womenswear denim label, Angels & Men are launching their debut collection for autumn/winter 2011. The label brings to the UK market a new concept in denim apparel, the first range of thermal lined jeans, which unites ‘style, comfort and warmth’ with their unique blend of on-trend cuts, washes and soft fleece lining.
Founded by Mellie Carroll and Jo Matthews, the brand’s jeans are lined with Fleecetec-Duothermalate to trap natural body warmth, whilst remaining fully breathable. The line will carry a range of two different cuts, the Straight and Boot cut, in a dark and worn wash, and are priced £175.
“Everyone wears jeans. We thought what a dream it would be to have great stylish jeans that offer warmth and protection without in any way affecting the silhouette,” commented Carroll and Matthews on why they set up Angels & Men. Carroll added: “Like most women, I hate being cold and I decided to try and find fashionable, premium denim, that would look and feel great, but with thermal properties. I searched in vain and felt frustrated, so I set about creating my own range!”
To launch the new label, the brand has teamed up with Valerie Wickes, Founder of View Creative, who was responsible for the re-branding of Pringle, Aquascutum, and more recently Hardy Amies to create the autumn/winter campaign. The company has plans to extend the line with a high performance jean with the same thermal qualities but to a higher degree, which will be suitable for more extreme cold conditions. Angels & Men jeans are available from their online shop as well as being stocked in various boutiques and outlets throughout the UK.
