Versace launches Spring/Summer collection 2012 for children

UK-based Versace fashion brand has revealed that it will be launching a collection for children in its Spring/Summer 2012 line.

The new Versace collection will cater to children below 12 who are looking for a ‘rock and roll twist’ via Medusa-head logos, Greek key motifs, and bold prints.

It is going to be a high-end, glamorous and colourful Versace collection for children in line with the brand’s essence, according to its Chief Executive Officer Gian Giacomo Ferraris.

According to the business plan outlined for the new label, besides making the brand available in Versace’s existing stores, the line is expected to have 200 stockists and wholesale sales of 30 million euros in five years.

The company is also in the process of finalizing its own store concept for the new label that is being launched for the first time since the closure of previous line ‘Versace Young’ in 2004.

Versace have also announced that their profits are up substantially, with sales growing 9.1 percent to over £250 million in 2010. This has helped the company to pass its debt troubles and return to normalcy.
