At the museum, he encountered a sign that forbade women in Africa from wearing stilettos. <p>Forthe fiscal year that ends next January,<strong> Tiffany expects globa</strong>l net sales to be up 10 %, led by gains in Asia and the Americas and mainly thanks to the influx of foreign visitors to bot Us and Europe. That would be an improvement over the holiday sales, but still below last year&#8217;s 18 % jump. Consequently, sales are &#8220;tracking in line&#8221; with the company&#8217;s expectations so far this quarter, <strong>Chief Executive Michael Kowalski </strong>said in a statement. In the same line, Kowalski shared the good news with analysts on a conference call, advancing that Tiffany sees long-term sales gains of 10%  to 12% per year, and a 15pc increase in annual earnings.</p>
<p>The company forecast a full-year profit of between $3.95 and $4.05 per share, above Wall Street estimates of $3.93, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. As reported by Reuters, the famous jeweller said that much of its profit growth for the year will occur later in 2012, thanks partly to a jewellery tie-in with the upcoming &#8220;Great Gatsby&#8221; motion picture starring Leonardo DiCaprio.<strong> Tiffany</strong> is also planning to carry 15% more inventory this year to support the chain&#8217;s 175th anniversary.<br />

The iconic diamond seller has much to thank top tourists, as spending by foreign visitors accounted for some 40 % of sales at Tiffany&#8217;s Fifth Avenue store, which generated almost one-tenth of the company&#8217;s total sales, explained the company.</p>
<p>In the same vein, 25 % of<strong> Tiffany&#8217;s sales in Europe</strong> came from non-European customers. Asia excluding Japan remained a major source of growth for Tiffany, with same-store sales up 13 %. That market now accounts for almost one-fifth of overall sales. Also, in Japan, Tiffany&#8217;s second-largest market after the United States, business continued to recover from the tsunami and nuclear disaster of a year ago, with same-store sales up 4 %.</p>

Though it was initially (read the 90s) placed near Valentine’s Day, <strong>Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show</strong> has slowly but steadily migrated in Christmas’s cozy proximity. Actually, this year it was a major show for Victoria’s Secret as they celebrated 10 years from their first TV broadcast show! 10 years of gorgeous girls cheerfully walking around in VS lingerie with more and more elaborate accessories. VS Angels, ten of the twenty to forty models to walk for Victoria’s Secret each year, made their debut in 1998.</p>
<p>Since then, many faces have come and gone (notably Helena Christensen, Stephanie Seymour, Claudia Schiffer, Daria Werbowy and so many others), however, <strong>Victoria’s Secret name has only climbed the ladder of underwear glamour</strong> and much awaited entertainment.<br />

The Pink label made its debut in 2004, mostly targeting college young women and teens and 2006 marked both the last year Gisele walked for VS and the PINK catwalk debut. Prior to that, in 2011, the Fantasy Bra has made its runway debut worn by some of the most beautiful women ever to have worked under Victoria’s Secret (Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Tyra Banks, Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr). Like a curiosity, between 1999 and 2005, the Fantasy Bra has exceeded the $10 Million price tag; from 2006 on, its value has constantly decreased to arrive at $2 Million in 2010. This year marks a revigoration of the Fantasy Bra value, going up by a quart, reaching the $2,5Million mark.</p>
<p>Enough of the boring data sheet – let’s get back to our girls. The models having walked the 2011 <strong>Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show </strong>were as gorgeous as ever and the costumes as imaginative as always (there was a notable absence – Magdalena Frackowiak went off radar for the show, although she was part of the initial lineup). 37 models graced the VS catwalk with their daring strut and irresistible smile (of which 13 made their debut for VS). Oh, and their amazing lingerie – wearing bodies!</p>
<p>I told you, when I first started the VS talk of this year, that I saw good, bad and plain ugly. And even though only a day has gone by since the show, my bad and ugly memories faded away under all those layers of glitter, fake tan and cheerful colors! As always, the Victoria’s Secret marketing machine was perfectly fueled by the show, the performers and the girls! What? Oh, yes, the lingerie too!<br />

My only regret, watching the pictures taken during the presentation, was that the models weight could affect the general perception of the underwear. However, the people who will watch the show on TV won’t see much of the really thin girls as to realize how this would reflect on their eating habits. What they’ll see is smiling, happily looking extremely beautiful girls with a healthy tan and a dreamy, fierce strut! Bottom line – exactly what Victoria’s Secret is aiming for!</p>
<p>I doubt the Victoria’s Secret magic will ever disappear so, as always, I’m faithfully waiting for the final edited version of the TV broadcast <strong>Victoria’s Secret 2011 Show</strong>. After which, I’ll be perusing their website for goodies! (what? You didn’t seriously think they were making billions out of thin air! Normal people like you and me it’s what they’re after! And although I’m not imagining walking the catwalk each and every time I wear my <strong>Victoria’s Secret lingerie</strong> or swimsuit, it does add a bit of glitter and glamour!)</p>

All these resembling Italian pizza where red and light-green roses were the main motives – all caloric but very tasty!</p>
<p>The <strong>Prada’s first jewelry</strong> pieces are priced from $448 and higher. At first it seems that these are medium size pieces. But if you watch Prada resort spring-summer 2012 advertising campaign promo in the beginning of the article, you’ll get the real sizes. As for me I liked the cuffs.</p>

According to the Times Mulberry wants to open a second factory near its existing site in Somerset to meet rising international demand for <strong>Mulberry products</strong>. The company is reportedly seeking £2.5m from the government to add to £5m of investment for the new site as the company cannot fund the entire cost itself due to its obligation to shareholders.</p>
<p>However chief executive Godfrey Davis said it was “very unlikely” <strong>Mulberrry would</strong> be able to open a second factory without financial backing from the coalition’s Regional Growth Fund.<br />

Chief executive Godfrey Davis said<strong> Mulberry was considering opening a second factory</strong> in the UK next year due to a spike in demand for its bags, but had been put off from doing so by the impact rising National Insurance (NI) rates have on operating costs. Employer NI contributions are set to rise to 13.8% from 12.8% for those earning more than £136 a week in April.</p>

The new <strong>Сhristian Dior</strong> ready-to-wear collection brought some fresh notes to the catwalk so that I’d rather took some of these fabulous chiffon dresses and put them on because of the unexpectedly hot weather.</p>
<p>Bill Gaytten saw <strong>spring/summer collection 2012 </strong>in pastel tone: caramel, beige with grey (rather freaky mix, I’ve never thoughts of it, but it works), palest blue.  The festive accent was made by carmine dresses and leather sleeveless jackets. They were just perfect! So effective they were on Karolina Kurkova, opening the show, Miranda Kerr and Karlie Kloss.<br />

Shares in the Zara´s owner have gained almost 6 per cent over the past six months, while H&amp;M’s have fallen by a similar amount.</p>
<p>Soon after this landmark, largely commented by analysts worldwide,<strong> H&amp;M´s market capitalization was Swedish</strong> krona 335,979,616,000, slightly over the Inditex´s one, set at €39,070,349,472, according to data from the FashionUnited Top 100 Index. It is well worth a line to remember that Inditex overtook Gap as the world&#8217;s number one fashion retailer in 2008 and that it has taken other three years to surpass H&amp;M.<br />
But racing to hold the largest market price is not the only competition that both fashion giants have been involved lately. In a tight duel for reaching the first the coveted title of the largest world´s fashion retailer, <strong>Inditex and H&amp;M </strong>have taken similar measures but with a different twist. Thus, while both companies have largely externalized their production in an era characterized by clothing chains have been hit particularly hard because they are also facing higher costs of raw materials such as cotton and rising wages in Asian,<strong> Inditex has suffered</strong> less than HM because it buys a larger proportion of its garments in Europe and north Africa, where wage increases have been much lower than in Asia. And both, retail analysts note, say they are unwilling to raise prices to pass on rising costs to their consumers, “which is slowly nibbling away at both companies’<br />

<p>The online battle has also been a win for the Spanish textile emporium as Inditex is opening its different brands to the digital market place whereas <strong>H&amp;M is not seeing</strong> yet the massive response it waited for its online store.</p>
<p>Both companies are well acknowledged on the importance of diversification. Inditex owns 8 different brands ranging from high-end accessories (Uterqüe) to acclaimed home wear (Zara Home) and is unstopping opening new stores around the Globe. Having taken the same path, H&amp;M has preferred to set a solid ground with its flagship H&amp;M before testing the waters with higher segment oriented COS. Recently the Stockholm based company has also ventured in to the home wear market with a still timid yet modern and economic range.</p>
<p>But competition is not confined to the high street. <strong>Inditex posted a 10 per cent ris</strong>e in first-quarter net profit as its expansion into fast-growing emerging markets such as China helped to offset sluggish demand in its home market while Sweden’s H&amp;M, which makes a larger proportion of its revenues in Europe, missed forecasts with a 2 per cent rise in same-store sales in May. As per Reuters data, strength in emerging markets and a lack of exposure to rising Asian wages helped Inditex deliver a 10 percent rise in quarterly profit to outperform <strong>fashion rival H&amp;M</strong> which missed forecasts.<br />

&#8220;A good set of results from Inditex. A bit more worrying from Hennes,&#8221; said Santander analyst Rebecca McClellan, who has an &#8220;overweight&#8221; rating on Inditex shares and an &#8220;underweight&#8221; recommendation on H&amp;M. Meanwhile, Liberum Capital analysts said in a recent research note that Inditex&#8217;s online drive could add 1.8 percent to like-for-like sales this year, and 3 percent next year.</p>
<p><strong>Inditex and H&amp;M</strong> shares have recovered from losses earlier this year as cotton prices have come off their highs. However, while Inditex has beaten the STOXX Europe 600 retail index by 14 percent, H&amp;M has outperformed by just 3 percent. Inditex shares trade at 20.5 times forecast earnings, compared with 21.8 times for H&amp;M.</p>
