Armani Privé collection Autumn/Winter 2011, Haute Couture Week

The Theatre National de Chaillot was entirely changed into a black and red space ready to receive the Armani Haute Couture collection inspired by Japan. The magical east had been on Mr Armani’s mind and he created the Autumn/Winter 2011 Privé collection.

Armani pulled out everything that was female and charming from the customary Japanese attire and left the costume behind.

Narrow jackets from black velvet with abrupt pagoda-shaped shoulders and kick flare skinny pants were clear-cut and spectacular for openers. Material and silhouette were the focal points of the Armani Privé collection.

Styled with straight, slicked back hair cuts, and topped with architectural head items by Philip Treacy, a skinny black trouser costume with cherry blossom printed obi belt; a simple black strapless cover gown with sculpted bodice and an evening coat with kimono fullness cut in contemporary cocoon shape with flash of tangerine lining all appeared sophisticated and gorgeous in an minimized way and absolutely fresh.

It goes without saying that Armani reigns top over the red carpet. He has been doing that for 30 years. Moreover, in five years he has also become a giant of the most exceptional fashion club, the Paris haute couture.
