The legend of famous British designer Alexander McQueen and his Fashion House began when Lee Alexander McQueen was just 16 years old. He left the school wanting to be a fashion designer and had a flourishing triumph in this occupation. His graduation collection was showcased in 1994 and was totally purchased by a peculiar British fashion idol and editor Isabella Blow. Isabella was the one who proposed to use McQueen’s middle name for the brand.
First collections created by Alexander McQueen were recognized for their hullabaloo and surprise policy. His clothing pieces were magnificent and joint both British dressmaking and French couture. The hourglass-shaped gowns, dress coats with skinny denims, sharp costumes, dark and romantic dresses covered with embroidery and lace – all these was signature of Alexander McQueen. He also received various prizes and awards. Particularly in 2004 he was honored the Best British Menswear Designer of the yearby the British Fashion Council. By that time the Alexander McQueen Fashion label was already partially owned by Gucci Group.
Alexander McQueen Fashion House creates luxury accessories and clothing for women and men, but it has also produced a number of perfumes, Kingdom and MyQueen to name just a few, eyewear pieces, handbags, jeans, shoeswear and in 2006 has released McQ label that is a more inexpensive and denim-based range of clothing.
Among the most famed celebrities of Alexander McQueen Fashion House are Cate Blanchett, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss and English Princess Kate Middleton, who wore a magnificent, chic and perfectly-designed Alexander McQueen dress during her wedding to Prince William. Kate Middleton’s wedding dress was created by a present creative director of the brand and McQueen’s right hand since 1996 Sarah Burton, who became the head of his Fashion House in 2010, when Lee Alexander McQueen has committed a suicide in his London apartment.
However even after McQueen’s death the Gucci Group affirmed that the Alexander McQueen Fashion House will go on with its mission and will even play a part in Paris Fashion Week. In the latter McQueen’s showcase saw a great triumph. Thus the Alexander McQueen Fashion House still exists and flourishes under the Sarah Burton management.
